moonlighting

sometimes it’s fun to shoot, just because. I had a free saturday last season and  moonlighted as a floral assistant for becca of Petal Floral Design and grabbed my camera “just in case”. I snapped a few of her floral lovelies at Overbrook House in Buzzards Bay…Overbrook is such a unique venue and I’m now counting the days until I shoot erin’s wedding [from the also pretty amazing Forêt!] at OH this upcoming may…which is  just a *blink* away.

Light & Truth is a pretty fabulous periodical targeted to the photographer…amy + richard of Red Leaf Studios are the dynamic duo behind this magazine and both are very talented shooters too. I am honored to have been featured again – this time to talk about my approach to shooting on-location or in the studio for floral [+ food!] work, starting on page No. 33.

…and below are some of my favorite images from this shoot – from an afternoon of playing with light + flowers with the talented becca of Petal Floral Design.

on a whim

when the buds + blooms in the garden are ready for picking +  the *perfect* vintage tray has just been found, a photoshoot can be moments away. I admire talent like becca of petal floral design with her clippers and in her rubber wellies, who can breeze through a garden and pull together a pretty in record time.
